Trudy G. Oliver
Dr. Oliver is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Cancer Biology at Duke University and a Duke Science & Technology Scholar. The Oliver Lab recently moved from the University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) where Dr. Oliver spent the last 11 years, most recently as an Associate Professor, HCI Endowed Chair in Cancer Research, and co-leader of the Lung Cancer Disease Center.

The Oliver Lab is focused on understanding the biology of under-studied subtypes of lung cancer, specifically squamous and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). They investigate mechanisms that define tumor cell fate, plasticity, and drug resistance, to uncover vulnerabilities that can be therapeutically targeted. The Oliver Lab’s work creating genetically-engineered mouse models has led to a new understanding of SCLC molecular subtypes and their remarkable capacity for plasticity.
